SKS Power – Turnaround

The SKS Power plant, comprising two units of 300 MW situated at Binjkote Chhattisgarh, had been non-operational for approximately six months to a year, leading to a prolonged shutdown. The operational stagnation not only affected the plant's efficiency but also hindered its contribution to the country's energy grid. Understanding the significance of reviving this asset, NTPC Consultancy stepped in with a clear objective to restore the plant to its full operational capacity.

NTPC officially took over the operation and maintenance (O&M) support services of the SKS Power plant on 28th May 2022. The team immediately set to work, deploying strategic interventions and leveraging NTPC Consultancy’s decades of expertise in plant revival and operational excellence.

The Achievement :In a remarkable span of just three to four months, both units of SKS Power were restored to full functionality. The milestones achieved include:-

Unit #1 Synchronization: Successfully synchronized with the grid on 9th July 2022.

Unit #2 Synchronization: Achieved synchronization on 14th September 2022.
